We're a Development Agency That Builds Things Properlyand Stays Accountable After We Do

Pulsebay is an Auckland-based digital engineering agency. We build websites, mobile apps, web applications, and AI systems for NZ businesses that are serious about growth. We've been doing this for 8 years, we've shipped 100+ projects, and we still have clients from our first year. That's the version of "about us" that matters.

Who We Are

Pulsebay - What We Actually Are

We're not a large agency. We're not trying to be one.

We're a compact, senior team of developers, designers, and AI engineers who've built production software across nine industries. We take on a focused number of projects - enough to do each one properly, not so many that any one client becomes an afterthought.

Every project is run by engineers who've shipped real software, not managed by an account executive and built by someone in their first year. When we say we're senior-led, we mean the senior engineer is writing the code - not reviewing what a junior built.

We work with mid-market NZ businesses at the point where "we need to sort this properly" becomes the decision. Businesses that have budget, have tried cheaper options, and now want something built right.

How We Work

How a Pulsebay ProjectNo Jargon Version

1. Free 30-min call

We understand what you need, ask the questions you might not have thought to ask, and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit. No pitch. No pressure.

2. Fixed quote

A detailed scope and a fixed price — no hourly billing surprises, no hidden variables. You know exactly what you're getting before anything starts.

3. Staged build

Two-week development sprints with working software at the end of each. You see real progress and give feedback while it's still cheap to act on.

4. We don't vanish at launch

Ongoing support is part of how we work. We're still accountable six months after go-live. Most of our clients come back for the next project.

Why Not A Bigger Agency?

Bigger Agencies HaveMore People. Not Alwaysthe Right Ones.

Larger agencies have senior people too - usually on the pitch. Once the work starts, it often gets handed to a less experienced team while the senior principals move on to the next sale.

At Pulsebay, the team you meet is the team that builds. There's no account manager in the middle, no junior being supervised from a distance, no outsourced development that contradicts what you were told in the room.

We're selective about what we take on. That's a deliberate choice — it means when we say yes, we can back it up.

Local knowledge, global standards

Auckland-based, with 60+ partners across NZ, Australia, and the UK. We know the NZ market - platforms, compliance, integrations, and what NZ users actually expect.

No project failures

100+ projects delivered. We're not going to claim every one went perfectly smoothly - complexity happens. But every project we've taken on has shipped.

Our Team

Senior Engineers - Not aJunior Farm

Every Pulsebay project is led by experienced engineers and designers who've shipped production software. We're small enough that there's nowhere to hide mediocre work, and experienced enough to know what good looks like.
