App Development for NZ Businesses - iOS, Android & Web Apps That Actually Get Shipped
A lot of app projects start well and end badly. Scope creep, missed timelines, a launch that happens six months late or doesn't happen at all. We've been building apps for 8 years and we've learned exactly where projects go wrong. Our job is to make sure yours doesn't.

Native App or Web App?Here's the Difference.
This is the first question most clients ask and it's the right one to ask early, because the answer shapes everything.
You probably need a native iOS or Android app if:
Your users will use it daily and device performance matters (camera, GPS, push notifications, biometrics)
You need to be listed in the App Store or Google Play
You want offline capability
You're building something with real-time interactions (maps, live updates, streaming)
You probably need a web app if:
Your users access it via browser and device type varies
You're building an internal business tool, dashboard, or SaaS platform
Speed to market matters and a single codebase for all devices is better than separate native builds
You need admin workflows, reporting, and business logic more than device features
You might need both a mobile app for end users and a web dashboard for your operations team. We build both, and we build them to talk to the same backend.
Not sure yet? That's fine. A 30 minute call is usually enough to work it out

How We Work
How We Build AppsWithout the Usual Disasters
We scope it properly - before anything starts
A fixed quote based on a real brief. You know exactly what you're getting, what it costs, and when it ships - before we write a line of code.
We build in sprints, not silence
Two-week development sprints with working software at the end of each one. You see real progress - not a Gantt chart update. Feedback happens when it's still cheap to act on.
We handle the backend too
Most agencies build the app and hand off the backend to someone else. We build everything - API, database, admin panel, third-party integrations - in one team. No gaps, no blame-shifting.
We support after launch
App store submissions, bug fixes, iOS/Android OS updates, new feature builds. We're still here six months after go-live. Maintenance from $500/month.

What Does an AppCost to Build?
Frequently AskedQuestions
How long does an app take to build?
An MVP with core features: 4-6 weeks. A more complex app with integrations, custom backend, and multi-user roles: 3-6 months. We give you a realistic timeline at scope - not an optimistic one that slips.
Do you build MVPs or full platforms?
Both. We build a lot of MVPs for clients who want to validate before committing to the full build - and then we build the full platform when they're ready. We scope them separately so you're not paying for features that might not survive first contact with real users.
Who owns the code?
You do. Full IP transfer on delivery. We don't hold code hostage or lock you into proprietary systems.
What happens when iOS or Android releases a new OS version?
If you're on a maintenance package, we handle the updates. If you're not, we'll flag it and quote separately. Either way, we don't leave you with an app that breaks on the next iPhone update.
Do you submit to the App Store and Google Play?
Yes. We handle the submission process - app store listings, screenshots, compliance requirements, review feedback. First-time submissions can take 1-4 weeks for review; we build that into your timeline.
Can you take over an app that another agency built?
Yes, and we do it regularly. We'll audit the existing codebase first, tell you honestly what we find, and quote for what needs to be fixed or rebuilt. Sometimes the foundation is solid. Sometimes it isn't. You'll know before you commit.
